Our co-founder and CEO, Maya Kuppermann, started her first nonprofit as a teenager to provide free dance classes to children in community centers in California. While working in the for-profit space years later, she saw that while for-profit companies had every tool imaginable to succeed, grantmakers were being left behind—stuck with clunky legacy systems and manual spreadsheets.
Our co-founder and CTO, Ruthwick Pathireddy, saw the same gap from a different angle. Ruthwick spent his free time volunteering for nonprofits, ultimately rising to the chair of an associate board. He realized that the lack of affordable, purpose-built software was a major barrier to impact.
In 2022, Maya and Ruthwick teamed up to build Temelio, the all-in-one grants management system designed for small-to-medium foundations. Over time, they assembled an advisory board of experts—including grantmakers, nonprofit leaders, and philanthropic advisors—to help develop a platform that actually reflects the daily needs of organizations in the sector.
Where we are today
Since our launch, Temelio has moved from a bold idea to a trusted partner for leading foundations across the country.
- Milestones of Impact: We now facilitate over $1B in annual grants, working with foundations like Kapor Foundation, Peloton Foundation, and Livelihood Impact Fund.
- Award-Winning Innovation: In 2025, our founders were recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact, and we also secured $7M in funding to fuel product innovation.
Today, our NYC-based team remains obsessed with one thing: providing the philanthropic community with the “mission control” it deserves. We believe that when you spend less time on paperwork, you can spend more time on the people and causes that change the world.Since our launch, Temelio has moved from a bold idea to a trusted partner for leading foundations across the country.
